A Big Thankyou from me to you!!

Just a small update today as I wanted to send my sincere thanks to a few people who have been busy back in October with something called the Animal Star Awards!

Dog Training for Essex & Suffolk have been nominated for the Best Trainer of the Year category and if that wasn’t exciting enough, I received the message last week that I’m a finalist!! The reason I wanted to express my thanks and gratitude is the last year trying our best with delivering training, support, advice and checking in on our clients mostly online has been really difficult – much of the time we are talking to a camera with indication of how many people will watch, if they are enjoying it, how the dog’s are getting on etc and without that continuous feedback you keep going in the hope that you’re doing the right thing!!

So having messages letting us know how your dog is doing with some training at home, sending us videos of your puppy practising or photos of your dog doing something fun all makes the difference our end and helps us to help you further. To have a nomination in the same year that so much had to change, adjust and trial run plus when we genuinely didn’t know whether we would still be open the same time in a year, it’ a huge booster for us with regards to being a micro business and understanding what we can do to help our customers moving forwards!

The Evening Gazette and Harwich Standard both covered a lovely article last week about the nomination and how we are planning to return to in person training over the coming weeks – you can see the article here:

The Animal Star Awards started 5 years ago and include various pet related categories such as Pet Related Business, Rescue Animals of the Year, Pet Podcast and Veterinary Nurse of the Year. The online awards ceremony takes place on 28th March 6-9pm and the finalists will find out who are the winners of each category, plus who will be awarded highly commended certificates.

We are currently going through dates etc to work out when classes will restart – with courses that started in November and December continuing start of April, and brand new courses starting from 2nd week of April onwards. We will be contacting everyone already in classes in the next week to give the start dates we are hoping for, subject to any changes in the government road map for coming out of lockdown and to check that everyone in classes would still like their spaces and offer alternatives if anyone would prefer to not continue – so if you’re on a waiting list for a class you may be offered a space in April!

We are really looking forward to seeing you and your dogs back in training, and also to meet new people and dogs due to join us over the coming weeks and months!! It’s been a crazy 12 months – let’s look forward to getting back with our dog training activities again!

Have a great weekend!

Joe and Team!!
